Boho Beach Session – Review
Anything with “beach” in the name sounds pretty appealing on a cold, January morning, so when we were invited to a “Boho Beach Session” of yoga, cocktails and sushi at Mayfair restaurant/nightclub Mahiki, obviously we signed right up.
The event is run by the coconut-scented Mahiki, a beautiful, tiki-themed venue in the heart of Mayfair with celebrity fans including Rihanna, Cara Delevingne as well as what looks like half of the Made In Chelsea cast. Yoga in a nightclub might not sounds like the most relaxing idea but trust us, the beach hut themed decor and atmospheric lighting makes you feel more like you’re on a tropical island than the middle of central London.
The event begins at 6:30pm with the most luxurious Yivamukti yoga class in the Lani Lounge with lovely instructor, Molly. By the end of the class we were feeling fully stretched out and relaxed, it’s perfect for any level of yoga, Molly offers variations on the Asanas for beginners and more advanced yogis.
Next up we were given a NOSH cold pressed juice cocktail, a healthy and delicious fruit juice spruced up with a cocktail umbrella and a shot of vodka, we’re still going to claim it’s a healthy detox. Then we sat down and chatted to some of the other yogis at the event while waiters delivered plates of sushi, spring rolls and edamame to the table. There’s a really relaxed, friendly atmosphere and the team running the session could not have been more accommodating or helpful.
The Boho Beach Session is £20 per person, which is a real, bargain considering most yoga classes are around the same and don’t normally include a sushi dinner afterwards. It’s definitely worth treating yourself to and we’re already planning on when to come back for another session.
The event takes place every Tuesday during January and then twice a month:
February 9th and 23rd
March 8th and 22nd
April 5th and 19th
May 3rd and 17th etc.
